Adoption process

Give us a call, email or FB message

Call us on 01263 822560, email on secretary.nnclt@gmail, or message us through FB message with your contact details, your home set up and any initial preferences you may have, in order for us to help you find your forever companion. Photos of your home and garden (if you have one), proximity to  roads and other pets you have will help us in finding a purrfect match during your appointment.

We'll book you in for a visit

We hold visits by appointment only, and as much as we'd love to accommodate you we are very busy throughout the day and have to keep to a schedule, so please do not turn up unannounced to avoid disappointment.

If you wish to cancel or rearrange your appointment please let us know ASAP so that it may be offered to someone else, as we often have waiting lists.

Your appointment

'The cat chooses you'

Currently appointments are held at weekends in the afternoon. Please let us know if you're having trouble finding us or will be late - please note we are on the other side of the A149 to the church and village - signposted: Suffield Antingham Village Hall.

When you first arrive, we will sign you into our visitors book. We can accommodate a maximum party of four. Children are most welcome, but we must insist one supervising adult per child whilst in the sanctuary.

Please use the hand sanitisers provided to protect both you and our cats.

'The cat chooses you'

More often than not during your visit, one of our cats or kittens will form a bond with you whilst sitting with them in our homing areas, and it is one of the reasons why we tend not to give our cats individual profiles online.

If you wish to go ahead and adopt one or maybe more of our adult cats, you will be asked to complete an adoption form and a date will be arranged for a home-check.

All our cats are neutered/spayed, flea'd/wormed, vaccinated against flu and enteritis and microchipped.

Our adoption fee is currently £95* per cat

After a home-check has taken place, we will arrange for a convenient date for you to introduce  your new family member to their home.

We will usually only adopt our kittens in pairs, unless they are joining an existing cat in your home or they are being adopted with an older cat in the sanctuary.

We request a reservation fee of £25 per kitten which is deducted from the £95 adoption fee to be paid when the kitten/s are ready for their new home.

The kittens are neutered/spayed, flea'd/wormed, vaccinated against flu and enteritis and microchipped before leaving the sanctuary. Please note there can be a wait of up to 2-3 months depending on the age and weight of the kittens before they will be ready for neutering/spaying.

We are happy to arrange further subsequent appointments for you to see them whilst they are waiting for their operation.
